Multidisciplinary Pain Management

Our clinicians employ a multi-disciplinary approach using the most proven and advanced techniques to manage pain. We provide a full range of conservative, nonsurgical treatments, but when surgery is necessary, the appropriate referrals will be made.

Again, our goal is to create a program based upon listening to the patient that will result in real help and real healing. Our program utilizes physician-directed pain management and rehabilitation. Our multi-disciplinary treatment program utilizes pain blocks, medication management, the latest pain management procedures, and physical and behavioral therapy to allow the patient to regain an enjoyable life.

Specific techniques include pain pump management and placement, neurostimulator management and placement, epidural injections, facet blocks, rhizotomy, trigger-point injections, and selective nerve root injections all done with the state-of-the-art techniques and ensuring, above all, patient safety and comfort. Dr. Reddan and Dr. Chafty have advanced training in image-guided approaches to ensure that your therapeutic injection is accurate and safe. Both are members of the International Spine and Intervention Society, Board Certified by the American Society of Anesthesiology, and have advanced training in pain management.

PAIN Q & A

Q.
I have pain between my low back and buttocks. Activity makes the pain worse, there is some relief with heat and rest. This aching, constant pain is interfering with my life and sleep. Can you help?

A. The pain you have is likely related to your sacroiliac joint. There is help. Medications and physical therapy including myofascial release or trigger point modalities may prove beneficial. Depending on the cause of the pain, trigger point injections and epidural steroid injections may be required. In summary, treatment of back pain is most successful as a team effort between patient and board certified pain physicians. Call the physicians at Kalamazoo Anesthesiology Pain Clinic and remember - relief is just a phone call away.
